I hold a cd disc w/ photos within it, the cd can be read within my deeply antediluvian desktop but can't be read surrounded by my current laptop

My dated Dell desktop had a cd-rom drive solitary. My new dell latitude 820 laptop in a minute has dvd-rw, but cant read a selective cd that was once and still is can be read by my feeble desktop. Why is this so? How can i make my laptop's dvd-rw read adjectives types of cd's?

thanks!

Answer:

Your unusual DVD-RW should have no problem reading CDs. Try putting a usual music CD surrounded by the DVD drive to verify it is reading properly. If it does, the problem is most likely next to the old disc disc.

Most likely the disc wasn't closed after creation and your new computer software can't read it. If you still enjoy the old desktop, try crack the CD writing software beside the CD installed within the drive and select the close CD option. This should gross the CD compatible beside most CD/DVD readers.
the must be cd+R or dvd+r that you own, a dvd-r drive cant read a (+) plus disc
seems resembling your new DVDRW have some problem. try to install elprime media recouping software and see if you can read files or not. Otherwise call your laptop capitalist and get the DVDRW replaced.
its probably because your cd is older that the dvd cant read it...
You can make a disk that can be with the sole purpose read in singular the computer that you made it with. It is adjectives just breed it over in THAT computer.
Rt click on the cd contained by the desktop if you get a MAKE COMPATIBLE inspection use it, then it should know how to be read
