I would suggest a Dell, they are usually cheap and reliable.
Trying to find an 80Gb thorny drive is not hard too thorny, abd it hsould be affordable. Try to get adequate RAM to support your programs, and find which processor suits you better.
Head to dell.com and click on laptops and select outlet, they have tons laptops there that are not terrifically pricey and have the complicated drive space and Windows Vista on them. I both my home PC and my laptop from them and both are working fine.
