I hold a compaq laptop that freezes up while i am workn. even the mouse wont move...help out?
Answer:
You may own some bad RAM and/or not plenty RAM. When your machine go to access that portion of the RAM that is impossible it will freeze up. Take it to a service center where they can try-out your chips. If your laptop isn't too old it won't cost too much to replace a doomed to failure chip.
Good Luck!
defrag,and check for registry errors.
Make sure, is it heating up ? usually due to dust invasion the fan and warmth sink of processor it happen. Give ur laptop to service center.
if you're multitasking consequently increase your ram or.
you can increase you're virtual memory.
its somewhat slower compared to the physical strike coz it runs on your harddisk
plus the risk is it increases the wear and tear of your rugged disk
here's how
right click on my computer left click on properties, click advanced, click on activities, check everything then click agree to windows choose whats best for my computer, click advanced, click virtual memory, click custom size (choose a drive first) afterwards increase your virtual memory... remember it should be divisible by 8 or else.. something reallly doomed to failure will happen
if youre not running any sturdy programs then its a virus
you should check out this site where on earth you can get a sony vaio laptop for free
i suspect your laptop may be overheating (from personal experience). I have a Compaq Presario laptop and I had equal problems. Mouse would not move, screen graphics would freeze, and the bottom of the laptop would become excruciatingly hot. Just have it serviced, or try to find some path to cool the system down.
Good luck!
